Unique function venue at one of New Zealand's largest museums. Fascinating backdrop of various themed spaces, with excellent facilities.
MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology) is a truly one-off venue for your special function, exhibition or event. You can choose from a variety of special sites, including the awesome Aviation Display Hall and the charming Victorian Village.
You'll feel the heritage and history all around you during your special day, and the dedicated function team will ensure that everything goes just the way you want it.
Let the team tailor the day to your individual needs, and take advantage of some of the special add-ons available - from a ride on a vintage tram or bus, to getting your photos taken in front of some world-famous exhibits.
The Aviation Display Hall provides the ideal backdrop for evening functions such as cocktail parties (up to 800 people), or a formal sit-down banquet (300 people). If you're looking for somewhere classy and different to host a meeting or make a presentation, then the Hugh Roberts Bretherick Classroom up in the Aviation Hall mezzanine, should do the job perfectly (up to 30 people).
Outside, why not take advantage of the wonderful Auckland climate and host your birthday picnic or corporate get-together on the Victorian Village Lawn (150-200 people). There's also the Cropper House Lawn (100 people) which offers a pretty, serene idyll for those special anniversaries or maybe a graduation celebration.
MOTAT runs special kids birthday party packages, which include entry to MOTAT and great activities for the children, such as dressing up as a fireman, making paper planes, becoming a mad scientist and even having their own Mad Hatter's Tea Party.
But whatever your function requirements, MOTAT is one of Auckland's premier and most popular venues, which will have your guests talking for a long time to come.
