The Royal New Zealand Air Force Band is one of New Zealand's premier military bands. The reserve musicians include top music students, freelance musicians, and working professionals.

Henderson has hosted this event for many years, gathering the top brass bands from across Auckland. This form of music dates back through the old New Orleans jazz bands, military marching bands and a close association with coal mining communities at the turn of the century.

It has a special place in many people's hearts as this music has crossed so many generations, cultures, and countries - and nothing else sounds like the full, rich sound of a brass band. Come spend a sunny afternoon in the beautiful Falls Park and take in some timeless tunes.
