The Walsh Memorial Library at MOTAT, with support from the National Oral History Association, invites members of the community from all walks of life, demographics, and backgrounds to share their stories of transport history.
Recording stations located in the library will be available for 15-minute interview session to any visitors who wish to record their stories around the following topics: cycling stories, my first car and travelling the Main Trunk Line. MOTAT values the wealth of knowledge and experience held by the community and would like to share and preserve these stories as digital oral history recordings for current and future generations. Recordings will then be made publicly available online and in the library.
The Walsh Memorial Library is a fantastic resource available to the public and a valuable source of information for students, writers, and researchers looking for records, photographs, and more on transport and technology. General admissions apply unless history sessions are booked in advance. Bookings through the Walsh Memorial Library, email Library@motat.org.nz or call the library on 09 845 3690
