This legendary track will bring out the record breakers.
It's the metaphorical home of V8 racing in New Zealand and for the first event of the 2018-2019 Speed Works Motorsport NZ Championship calendar, a host of championship and North Island categories will take on the challenge of the original Pukekohe Park circuit layout, with the full back straight being used for the first time at a Speed Works race meeting.
Topping the bill will be a refreshed field of BNT V8 racers, which will versus the best of the NZ V8 racers against a handful of newcomer Aussie young guns. As well as Fords and Holdens, there'll be vicious Toyota Camry machines and Nick Ross's superb Nissan Altima racer in a field which features two closely fought classes of racers.
The Toyota 86 Championship will race on the short circuit for the first time in a long time, only on this occurence the championship has its most competitive ever field, with a full set of the country's top young and up and coming racers looking to pitch their flags and take the next step in their racing careers as they hope to be the next Scott McLaughlin, Shane Van Gisbergen, Brendon Hartley or Scott Dixon.
