Takapuna Beach is an attractive sandy beach that enjoys views of the dominant landmark of Rangitoto Island, and a number of other islands in the Hauraki Gulf.
With the bustling town of Takapuna nestled by the beach, it's a popular spot for locals enjoying a walk, joggers, sailing and paddle boarders.
There is a large pay and display car park located just behind the beach along with toilet and changing room facilities. Close by, there's a selection of restaurants and bars that take full advantage of the sea views.
The beach is a short walk to the town centre which features some of Auckland's best shopping with a variety of options, from an indoor mall to boutique stores.
Takapuna is also a bustling centre of cafes and dining options, cafes and shopping. On Sundays, the lively market is packed full of stalls offering speciality foods, fresh fruit and vegetables, antiques, gifts, clothing and much more.
