Description

Learn to surf or level up your skills on Auckland’s favorite East Coast surf beach. Enjoy a 2-hour group surf lesson with passionate, experienced instructors who tailor each session to your ability, making sure you’re safe, having fun, and progressing fast. Meet your instructor and get kitted out with all the necessary equipment, including a surfboard, wetsuit, rash vest, and sunscreen. Begin with a safety briefing and learn about ocean awareness, wind and wave reading, and surfboard use. Then, head into the water and practice ocean entry and handling, catching waves with proper body/hand positioning, effective paddling, and mastering the “pop-up” technique. Once you’ve mastered the basics, you’ll be able to stand up and ride waves. If you’ve already had a few lessons, you can work on accelerating, turning, and wave selection, getting “out the back” and positioning for unbroken waves, timing, take-offs, and surfing etiquette.
