Treat yourself to a relaxing evening on a kayak, witnessing Auckland's authentic glowing nature. Get kitted out with all the gear you need and then paddle off into the evening with your personalised 1-6 ratio (guide-guests) group to witness the sea lights. As the sun dips below the horizon, join a serene and awe-inspiring evening paddle, where you’ll witness the mesmerising glow of the smallest marine creatures. Glide through tranquil waters under the starlit sky and witness the other-worldly brilliance of bioluminescence up close. Enjoy a peaceful two-hour tour as you discover the glow of bioluminescent organisms in their natural habitat. While bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and can never be guaranteed, the tour operates during peak season and carefully plans each trip around the best conditions. It is very rare not to see at least one type of bioluminescence. In the rare case that bioluminescence isn't visible during your tour (as verified by your guide on the night), receive either a 50% refund or a complimentary repeat tour.

• Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon and cannot be guaranteed. In case of no bioluminescence, a 50% refund or a complimentary repeat tour is offered. This kayak tour is suitable for children 11 years and over. The meeting location will be North Auckland, approx. 25 minutes from the CBD. The tour will take place within a 10km radius of the North Shore Canoe & Kayak shop at 2/20 Constellation Drive (access off Ascension Place, Mairangi Bay). THIS IS NOT THE TOUR LOCATION, THE LOCATION WILL BE EMAILED TO YOU BEFORE 10 AM THE DAY OF YOUR TOUR. PLEASE ENSURE YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THE EMAIL ADDRESS YOU USED FOR THE BOOKING. WE ALSO SEND A TEXT REMINDING YOU TO CHECK YOUR EMAIL. When deciding on the tour location, we consider factors including weather, wind and tides. We delay confirming the exact location until these factors are as solid as possible. We often will check the location the night before for Bioluminescence, too.
