Description
Begin with hotel pickup in Auckland aboard a modern, air-conditioned minibus. Listen to your guide’s introductions about Auckland and the scenic Waikato region as you travel south.
At Hobbiton Movie Set, join a 2.5-hour guided tour of the 12-acre film location. See Hobbit holes, the Mill, the Party Tree, and behind-the-scenes stories from the films. Your visit concludes with a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn.
Next, stop at Lake Karapiro for photos of the hydro dam and rowing venue. Pass through Otorohanga, the “Kiwiana capital,” known for its quirky Kiwi-themed roadside displays.
