Tour Highlight
Enjoy an exclusive 4-in-1 Rotorua experience in just one day — something no other tour on GetYourGuide currently offers.
We will depart from Auckland at 7:00 am and enjoy a comfortable drive to Rotorua, arriving at approximately 9:30 am. Our first stop will be Kuirau Park, a public geothermal park located in the heart of Rotorua. Here, you can see steaming vents, bubbling mud pools, and hot springs, offering a fascinating introduction to Rotorua’s geothermal activity. We will leave Kuirau Park at 10:20 am.
Next, we head to Mitai Māori Village, arriving in time for the show which starts at 11:00 am. This cultural experience gives insight into traditional Māori life through storytelling, songs, haka performances, and customs. The visit also includes a traditional hangi lunch, cooked underground using heated stones. The experience finishes at 1:30 pm.
After lunch, we travel to Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, a drive of about 30 minutes, reaching there by 2:00 pm. Waiotapu is one of New Zealand’s most famous geothermal parks, known for its colourful hot springs, steaming craters, and volcanic landscapes. We will spend about 1.5 hours exploring the walking trails before departing at 3:30 pm.
From Waiotapu, we continue to the Redwoods Treewalk, arriving around 4:00 pm. This unique attraction allows you to walk on suspension bridges high above the forest floor, surrounded by towering redwood trees. It’s a peaceful and scenic experience that offers a different perspective of nature. The walk takes about 1 hour, finishing at 5:00 pm.
Finally, we begin our return journey to Auckland, which takes approximately 2.5 hours, arriving back around 7:30 pm, concluding a full and memorable day exploring Rotorua’s culture, geothermal wonders, and natural beauty.
