Description

Meet your instructor at the Ferry Ticket Office in Devonport Ferry Terminal. After signing in, you can store any bags and get a helmet fitted. If you are new to Segway riding, complete a training session on various terrains to gain confidence.

The tour begins with a ride along the waterfront and grassy slopes, practicing on different surfaces. You will have some free riding time in a local park before proceeding through back streets to Cambria Reserve, an old quarry transformed into a park. Look out for native Tui birds feeding on tree nectar. The guide will share local history and anecdotes at points of interest throughout the tour.

Next, ride to the summit of Mount Victoria/Takarunga, the highest volcanic cone on Auckland's North Shore. From here, enjoy panoramic views of Auckland City and the Hauraki Gulf. This site was originally a Māori Pa (fortified village) and later a European fort in the 1880s. There is time to take photos and explore around the iconic mushroom-shaped installations at the summit.
