Description
Begin with a guided drive from Auckland city center across the Harbour Bridge to the North Shore. Pass through the areas of Coatesville, Kumeu, and Riverhead while your guide shares local insights and stories.
Stop at Hallertau Brewery for a set-menu lunch. Afterward, you can optionally taste some of Hallertau’s award-winning craft beers at additional cost.
Continue to Muriwai Beach on the west coast. Explore the rugged black sand beach and surrounding coastline. Walk up the nearby hill to see the North Island’s largest mainland gannet colony, noting that bird numbers vary seasonally.
Return across the harbour to Devonport and take a scenic drive up North Head, a volcanic cone with expansive views of the Hauraki Gulf and Auckland city skyline. Learn about the area’s military history as you explore its tunnels and coastal defenses.
After the tour, choose to return to the city by a scenic ferry from Devonport or by guided transport with drop-offs at central locations and hotels.
