Arrive at the Chelsea Sugar Factory and step ashore for an engaging and informative “mini tour.” Discover the rich history, industrial heritage, and distinctive factory architecture behind one of New Zealand’s most recognizable food producers, including a close-up look at the impressive “sugar mountain.”
After your tour, enjoy time to relax and refuel with lunch at the on-site café or bring your own to enjoy in the scenic surroundings. Refreshed and recharged, hop back into your kayak for a smooth and rewarding return paddle to Westhaven Marina, rounding off a memorable day that blends adventure, history, architecture, and a touch of sweetness.
Guests are required to independently book the 11:00am “mini tour” at the Chelsea Sugar Factory prior to the experience by visiting the Chelseas Sugar Factory website. If you wish to dine at the café, it is recommended to reserve a table for 11:30am. Alternatively, you are welcome to bring your own lunch.
