The tour begins with hotel pickup in a minibus, followed by a guided drive through Waikato’s extensive farming region, offering photo opportunities of mountains and farm animals.
Arrive at the Alexander Family Sheep Farm and Shire's Rest, the gateway to Hobbiton. Here, you can see thousands of sheep, purchase food or drinks, and collect your Hobbiton tickets. Next, board the Hobbiton green buses for a 2.5-hour guided tour of the 12-acre movie set, visiting 44 hobbit holes, gardens, and learning behind-the-scenes stories. The tour concludes at The Green Dragon Inn with a cold beverage.
Return through the Alexander Family Sheep Farm and continue south, passing Tirau (famous for corrugated iron sculptures), Fitzgerald Glade, and other attractions before arriving in Rotorua. The tour ends with a drop-off at central Rotorua hotels or a main central location.
