The tour begins with a pick-up from your preferred Auckland location, followed by a scenic 2-hour drive to Waikato, including potential photo stops along the way.
On arrival at Hobbiton, spend 30 to 45 minutes at the official gift shop and enjoy snacks or drinks at the Shire's Rest Café. Then take a 2.5-hour guided tour of the 1,250-acre sheep farm, featuring Hobbit Holes, the Old Mill, and the Double-Arched Bridge, with views of the Kaimai Ranges included. The tour includes a complimentary drink at The Green Dragon Inn.
After Hobbiton, continue to Rotorua to visit Te Puia and explore the 60-hectare Whakarewarewa geothermal valley.
