Description
Located just a short drive from Auckland, Matakana Estate spans 35 hectares of coastal vineyards. With nearly 30 years of winemaking history, the estate offers an intimate and welcoming cellar door experience.
During the tasting, you will sample estate-grown Chardonnay, Syrah, and Pinot Gris, shaped by the region’s unique coastal climate. The selection also includes exceptional wines from Hawke’s Bay and Marlborough, each representing the distinct character of their origin.
The tasting is unhurried, with staff providing detailed explanations of each wine’s flavor profile and background, offering insight into what sets Matakana’s terroir apart.
Tastings run Thursday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm, priced at $18 NZD per person. There is no minimum group size, allowing visits by couples, solo travelers, or friends.
