Description
This 2-hour group surf lesson on Orewa Beach is led by passionate, experienced instructors who customize each session according to your ability. The lesson begins with a beach safety briefing covering ocean awareness, wind, and wave reading.
You will learn about surfboard handling, safe ocean entry, and proper wave catching techniques using correct body and hand positioning. Instructors guide you through effective paddling and the “pop-up” method to stand up and ride waves.
After several lessons, you can progress to accelerating, turning, wave selection, and positioning for unbroken waves “out the back.” Additional instruction covers timing, take-offs, and surfing etiquette to build confidence on the water.
