Description
Auckland’s volcanic terrain offers great views and hills, ideal for exploring by electric bike. The tour suits all fitness levels and provides an outdoor experience enhanced by a knowledgeable local guide. Participants learn about Auckland’s history and development while riding comfortably with electric assist bikes.
The tour begins at Princes Wharf, within easy walking distance of cruise terminals and central hotels. Guests receive an electric bike, helmet, and a cycle-specific headset for guided commentary. After a safety orientation and a practice ride, the group sets off.
The route passes through Wynyard Quarter, Silo Park, Westhaven Marina, and the Harbor Bridge boardwalk. It continues through historic Freemans Bay and Victoria Park, then follows the award-winning Pink Path (Te Ara i Whiti) cycleway. The highlight is cycling up Mount Eden (Maungawhau), Auckland’s highest volcanic cone, where riders enjoy panoramic views and hear about the city’s early history.
After descending, the tour visits The Domain park and Auckland Museum with more scenic views, then returns via waterfront cycleways and historic wharves. It concludes at the Viaduct, where guides offer dining recommendations before the final ride back to the starting point.
