Begin your journey with hotel pickups before heading to Te Toka o Apihai Te Kawau, the founding memorial of Auckland on the waterfront. Travel along scenic Tamaki Drive to Bastion Point, a historic and visually striking clifftop park honoring one of New Zealand’s most respected leaders. Cruise along the waterfront past Mission Bay, an iconic local beach suburb, with insights into the area’s history and volcanic landscape. Stop at Achilles Point to take in sweeping views of the Hauraki Gulf and Rangitoto Island, the youngest and largest of Auckland’s 48 volcanic cones. Explore the city’s oldest park and see the Auckland War Memorial Museum, tropical gardens, and peaceful ponds. Pass through charming Parnell en route. Drive through Newmarket and head to Auckland’s highest natural point. Take a short walk to the summit for spectacular views and a look into the heart of this dormant volcano. Cross the harbor again and head to the charming seaside suburb of Devonport.
