Description
Begin your hike from the Waiheke ferry terminal, meeting your guide before setting off along the headland track around Matiatia Headland and past Owhanake Bay. This walking section takes approximately two hours and offers coastal scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities.
Learn about the local ecology, conservation efforts, and island life from your guide while observing seabirds, native flora, and the chance to see orcas or dolphins. Stop at Oneroa Village for lunch or enjoy a picnic on the beach.
After lunch, continue to Pio Rehutai Reserve and walk around Church Bay headland, passing through a sculpture park and bush reserve. Along the route, admire ocean vistas and residential architecture before returning to the ferry terminal after about two hours.
