ムリワイビーチはオークランド地域にある偉大なビーチの1つです。 オークランドの荒々しい西海岸に位置し、大きくて平らで黒い砂のビーチは見事な光景です。
サーファーは海の好条件に引き寄せられ、高く飛んでいる一方、パラグライダーは海岸線を取り囲む南西風に引き寄せられます。 ムリワイサーフスクールはSand Dunz Beach Cafeを過ぎた先にあり、サーフィンの指導やウェットスーツとサーフボードのレンタルが可能です。
ビーチの近くには、オーストラリアから毎年9月から4月までに帰ってくる約1,000組のガンネットが住むムリワイガンネットコロニーがあります。 コロニーには駐車場と、コロニーと荒々しい海岸線を間近で見ることができるいくつかの展望台へ続く短い遊歩道があります。
ヒラリートレイルは、Waitakere Ranges Regional Parkから沿岸を辿る4日間のトレイルで、ムリワイを通過します。
ムリワイビーチは釣り人を引き寄せ、岩の上に『一匹釣りに行く』ためにセットアップしますが、多くの場所で危険かもしれません。
