Begin your tour in Auckland CBD before crossing the iconic Auckland Harbour Bridge to the Kumeu wine region, known as the birthplace of New Zealand wine. The area’s vineyards have been developed by pioneering Croatian families whose expertise shaped the national wine industry.
Your first visit is to Kumeu River Wines for a guided tasting and insight into its renowned Chardonnay and family legacy. Then, move on to The Hunting Lodge, set on a restored vineyard estate, where you’ll enjoy a premium tasting followed by a gourmet lunch paired with wine. The tour concludes at Soljans Estate Winery, one of Auckland’s oldest family wineries, where you can sample more wines and experience its welcoming atmosphere.
A knowledgeable local guide leads the tour, sharing stories behind the region and its wines. The pace allows time to savour each tasting and the surrounding scenery, without rushing.
