Description
This is a one-day trip outside of Auckland to explore the nearby countryside and the west coast. In the morning, your guide will meet you at your hotel. After a brief introduction, a comfortable minibus will head through the wineries of the Kumeū region toward the Muriwai coastline, to a beach with volcanic black sand. Here, we will walk along the beach to see the powerful and picturesque waves and visit a unique gannet colony, large seabirds. On the way back, we can visit local wineries or take the scenic drive toward the Piha area, where we’ll see ancient kauri trees, waterfalls, and a stunning view of the coast with the iconic Lion Rock. On the way back, we will talk about Māori legends and the history of New Zealand. If time permits and you wish, we can also stop at the scenic lookout on Mount Eden.Includes
