Shakespeare Tavern was New Zealand's first Brewpub and is also a 10 room hotel. Located downtown, the 100 year old pub is situated on the corner of Wyndam and Albert Street.
This English style bar serves a range of beers including craft beers that are brewed on site and a decent selection of pub grub. For lunch you'll be tempted by the great choice of handmade Shakespeare pizzas and mouth-watering gourmet burgers and the Thai beef salad.
For dinner, NZs finest meat is showcased. Think tender lamb shank, BBQ spareribs and a hearty surf and turf with all the trimmings. Alternatively, opt for Shakespeare’s famous fish n chips.
Shakespeare Tavern has a number of large screen TV's to catch the latest sports action, along with gaming and TAB facilities. The restaurant also features a large decking area with views of the city below.
The hotel part includes ten budget value rooms that come with their own bathroom, proving a convenient base to explore the city.
