Run by renowned New Zealand chef Al Brown, The Federal Delicatessen brings a little bit of New York's Jewish community to Auckland.

The deli sells old-school Jewish dishes in a friendly setting, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and takeaway. The menu offers bagels, cooked meats, lox made from Stewart Island salmon, and a range of sandwiches.

The breakfast range includes griddle cakes and toasted muesli while the late night menu boasts hot dogs and matzo ball soup.

In a step away from modern cafes, the deli offers only filter coffee, which is served with unlimited refills. Cold drinks include old-fashioned soda floats.
