Jewel Of India is a bright, inviting place, with a rich decor and colourful interior. The menu has lots of choice, from tandoori entree platters to dozens of chicken, beef and seafood curries and banquets. There's a decent vegetarian selection, and they also do gluten-free recipes on request. For dessert, the deep-fried cottage cheese balls in sugar syrup are so moreish, if a little challenging on the waistline, like most Indian sweets. Service is attentive and very friendly, and the restaurant regularly garners raving reviews in the local food press. Sunday to Wednesday evenings offer a $15 "Wine & Dine" special, to include a curry, naan bread and glass of wine. The takeout service is popular and the restaurant is a member of the Menulog delivery service.
