Located just to the west of Auckland city centre in the suburb of West Lynn, this traditionally decorated restaurant and bar is hailed as something of a monument of the pioneer heritage of New Zealand's North Island.
Guests enjoy a hearty, timber-clad interior, complete with restored Kauri adornments, large, real wood fire and wide, open al fresco dining area. Drinks wise, Malt specialises in local ales and beers, with a number of hops-heavy brews from the region available on tap.
Food wise, the menu offers a range of wood-fired pizzas all made with Italian buffalo mozzarella and thin, Roman bases.
Malt Restaurant and Bar can also cater for a variety of special occasions, with a space that includes a large outdoor deck complete with weatherproof roof and open fire. The venue can seat up to 100 guests and 150 for cocktail style events.
