Auckland Sea Kayaks operates in the Hauraki Gulf Marine Park which is home to a myriad of islands, marine reserves, and many protected conservation areas.  Here you can see a wide variety of wildlife including dolphins, whales and some of New Zealand’s rarest birds.  Coupled with distinct volcanic cones, crystal clear waters, sandy beaches and virgin forest - you have a sea kayakers paradise just waiting to be explored.

Rangitoto Day Sea Kayak Tour

Kayak across the Waitemata harbour, where you may see wildlife such as Little Blue Penguins and Cooks Petrels.  On arrival at Rangitoto Island, you will start the 1 hour trek to the summit, viewing the spectacular sites and learning all about the history of the region.  At the return to the water’s edge, a healthy, hearty kiwi lunch will be awaiting you.  

Sunset Tour to Rangitoto Island Tour
The Sunset Tour to Rangitoto Island showcases the best of Auckland’s Waitemata harbour including Auckland’s highest and largest volcano. The trip is fully catered with a healthy kiwi BBQ for dinner and all equipment is provided. 

Motukorea / Browns Island Tour
The Motukorea / Browns Island kayak tour is the perfect trip for anyone who wants an exciting and informative day on Auckland’s Waitemata Harbor.  Browns Island is one of the best-preserved volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field.  Private boats and sea kayaks are the only means of access to this untouched island.  

Motukorea / Browns Island Twilight Tour
A favourite amongst those in the know, Browns Island (also known as Motukorea) is only accessibly by private craft.  Fortunately, we know exactly how to get you there; on a twilight kayak tour which includes a BBQ dinner!  

Riverhead 'Paddle to the Pub' Tour
This is a self guided, very scenic, sheltered trip and a perfect trip for a group of friends or family.  Departing from Herald Island after a safety briefing, you will make your way up to the Riverhead Historic Tavern.  The river journey is very sheltered, has varied scenery, and is perfect for novice kayakers.  Food can be ordered at the Riverhead Historic Tavern which you can enjoy while drinking an ale or two.  

Cavalli Islands Tour
This group of islands located in the the Far North of New Zealand’s North Island has been described as ‘Aotearoa’s best sea kayaking location’.  If you are after a remote sea kayak location, staying on a pest free conservation reserve, kayaking amongst wildlife, sea kayaks and between islands, then this is the perfect sea kayak adventure for you. 

2 Day Motuihe Island Hopping Tour
As you leave St heliers Bay, you will have a chance to visit Browns Island / Motukorea, where you will enjoy lunch, before heading to the jewel of the Hauraki Gulf, Motuihe Island.  Motuihe has some of the best sandy beaches of the gulf islands and these together with its clear waters and sheltered anchorages make it a stunning place to stay the night.  On day two, you will head over to Rangitoto, from where you will take a leisurely walk to the summit to experience stunning 360 degree panoramic views. Following lunch, you will then return to St Heliers. 

7 Day Great Barrier Island Tour
7 days kayaking around Great Barrier Island is as good as it gets for sea kayakers.  It’s home to natural rugged beauty and untouched wilderness.  This tour is designed for our clients, or future clients that can already paddle at an intermediate level.
