Whatever your skill and experience level, the wonderful team at Muriwai Beach Horse Treks have specialised treks, horses, and ponies to cater to all abilities from beginner to advanced riders.

Each tour begins with a safety demonstration and a briefing on riding your horse to ensure everyone feels relaxed and confident throughout the journey.

The trek travels along the striking black sands of Muriwai Beach on the west coast of Auckland, continuing up through the enchanting forestry of Woodhill.

Muriwai Beach Horse Treks is conveniently located less than 40 minutes northwest of the Auckland CBD and a short 15 minutes drive from the end of the North-Western motorway.

The trainers at Muriwai Beach Horse Treks cater to both locals and international visitors who are looking to enjoy New Zealand's natural beauty in the company of some lovely animals (both human and equine!).

Our rides are perfect for any skill level, whether you've never even seen a horse before to the more experienced adventurer. We do have a weight limit though of 95kg, purely due to ensuring the well-being of our horses. If someone in your team is over this weight please call us ahead to discuss.

2 Hour – Experienced Level Trek - Cost: $250.00
2 Hour – Intermediate Level Trek - Cost – $200.00
