Please Note - Rose Hellaby is currently closed and undergoing restoration before re-opening as a craft and souvenir shop.
Hellaby was a explorer, gardener and a philanthropist who purchased the house back in 1933 and lived there for over 35 years before giving it to the people of Auckland.
The house itself enjoys one of the very best views of Auckland, with a lookout extending from the back garden to offer visitors stunning panoramic views of the Waitakere Ranges and the Auckland Skyline.
The house is situated off the Waitakere Ranges Scenic Drive and today features an antiques shop. The house and beautiful grounds are open to the public on weekends and public holidays, from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
