Western Springs Park

Auckland

West Springs Park is a haven for wildlife and people wanting to escape the busy Auckland city life. The park encompasses a natural spring fed lake and features water gardens, native plants, pristine lawns and birds.

The lake is also a home to the native eel (orea). The eels are an original part of the ecological and cultural heritage of Western Springs.

Around the lake`s shores you can see many wild birds including New Zealand Scaup, Pied Shag, Australian Coot, Paradise Shellduck, Black Swans and native Pukeko.

Close to nearby attractions such as Auckland Zoo and MOTAT (Museum of Transport and Technology).

Western Springs Park is a great place to slow down and enjoy the peaceful setting.
