Ken Yakitori Bar and Restaurant
Ken Yakitori in Anzac Avenue, central Auckland, is a down to earth Japanese restaurant that focuses mainly on the yakitori style of cooking.
Yakitori is a Japanese dish that involves cooking usually chicken, but also meat, vegetables or seafood on bamboo skewers with a special sauce. The dishes are cooked over special charcoal and chefs need to be adept at keeping the heat right to create the best dish.
Most of the menu at Ken Yakatori is based on this style, but the menu also includes a range of salads and other hot dishes including fried octopus and prawn tempura.
Drinks include a range of sake and a frozen sake cocktail. The restaurant offers a bring your own wine option on certain days.
