Beaches Points of Interest Things To Do

Situated within walking distance of the pretty seaside town of Devonport, Narrow Neck Beach is lovely stretch of golden sand with wonderful views of Rangitoto Island.

The beach is a favourite with locals who enjoy walking, kayaking and fishing in the picture postcard setting.  There's also a boat ramp for launching smaller vessels. When the tide is out it's possible to walk around to Cheltenham Beach, another pretty beach which leads up to North Head Historic Reserve.

The facilities by the beach include a cafe, seating areas, a BBQ area, a small playground and toilets.  A short stroll from the beach brings you to the Fort Takapuna Historical Reserve, featuring remnants from its military past and incredible views of the Hauraki Gulf. Waitemata Golf Couse, is an 18 hole course, situated directly opposite the beach.

How To Get There:

It's a 5 minute drive from the town centre or the number 813 bus can be taken from outside the ferry terminal.  Alternatively, it's an enjoyable 20 minute walk from Devonport..
