Shakespear Regional Park

Auckland

Located 50 kilometres from downtown Auckland, Shakespear Regional Park is situated on the Whangaparaoa Peninsula.  The park includes the pretty sandy beach of Army Bay, where you'll often see kayakers, paddle boarders and those just enjoying a spot of lunch on the grassy bank overlooking the beach.

Across from the beach brings you to the country's most accessible, and most visited, open sanctuary combining conservation, recreation and farming.

There are a number of walking trails ranging from 30 minutes to a couple of hours.  The 'Lookout Track' takes you past Gully Waterfalls, native forest, farmland, a WWII gun emplacement and a lookout offering stunning 360 degree views of the Hauraki Gulf.

If you don't have a car, there is a reqular daily bus service that runs from downtown Auckland to the entrance of Shakespear Regional Park.
