Auckland Museum offers a variety of rooms and halls to cater for all kinds of formal or informal gatherings.

Themed galleries are also available for hire, to give guests or clients a fun and evocative backdrop to the evening.  Anything from 1866 Auckland, to the marine-themed Oceans Gallery or the Jurassic 'Origins' Gallery.

Enjoy your canapes beside dinosaur bones, or with the calming sounds of whales wafting through the room - an unforgettable experience! The Members' Lounge is a luxury space (once the office of the Museum's Director), which adds bygone elegance to any intimate dinner or reception.

The Auditorium is perfect for product presentations, or concerts, can hold 200 people, and comes complete with a grand piano.

The Atrium is the ideal venue for open, space-filled cocktail parties and receptions. The architecture mixes the old with the new, and it's fantastic for hosting fashion shows or champagne receptions, before dinner in the Event Centre, with its incredible copper dome and panoramic views of Auckland. Gala dinners, presentations, awards ceremonies, this is the place to hold that special event with a definite wow factor. The Atrium can accommodate 600 people for cocktails, and the Events Centre can seat 450 for dinner.

After-hours Museum tours are also available for the exclusive enjoyment of guests. The Grand Foyer is the final venue available for hire, which really lives up to its name. It's a majestic space, easily capable of hosting 400 for cocktails, or up to 150 for a dinner. A 1920s design, there's atmosphere aplenty here, so you won't need to dress it up for your event - it's all here from the stonework and columns, to the lighting and stained glass windows.

Auckland Museum can also arrange boutique conferences for those smaller corporate presentation needs. They have all the audio visual equipment you'll need, plus the tailor-made raised seating of the auditorium.
