St Heliers Bay
Auckland
St Heliers Bay is just a few minutes drive from Mission Bay. The upmarket suburb has a number of quality restaurants and cafes that take advantage of the seaside setting.
The golden sandy beach is the main attraction. Families can also make use of the small playground area on the beachfront and when the tide is out, enjoy exploring the rock pools.
The Point England Walk is a 11.25 kilometre walk that's part of the Greenprint Urban Walkways. The 4 hour walk begins on Cliff Road above St Heliers Bay and runs through Glover Park, Churchill Park, Glendowie Park, Tahuna-Torea and Y-o-taiki coastal reserves.
The Tamaki Drive Walk is a scenic 10 kilometre walk to, or from, the Voyager Maritime Museum in Viaduct Harbour, downtown Auckland.
Either way, it's a lovely walkway with plenty of memorable views of The Hauraki Gulf, passing by Kelly Tarlton's Sea Aquarium and Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park.
