Cafe Bar and Bistro European Casual Dining Late Night Bars Bars With an interior of warm woods, soft furnishings and a relaxing atmosphere, Oaken serves good food sourcing artisan foods with traditional cooking methods and a serious wine list.

The eatery is open all day. From serving breakfast with a choice of 10 imaginative dishes that centre around eggs complemented by a choice of coffee from three of New Zealand’s finest: Allpress, Eighthirty and Peoples Coffee.

The lunch menu features caramalised bacon butties, cauliflower, mushroom and buckwheat salad; chargrilled rump. The evening menu shifts slightly from good food to fine wine with a neatly curated but expansive list and an assembly of craft beers that the knowledgeable bar staff will happily talk you through.

To accompany the evening drinks are a choice of small plates, specifically designed to further the flavours of the exquisite wines.

Oaken is not exactly a café, a restaurant or a bar but a mixture of all three that's local to many.
